Style Insider: Couture Fashion Week 2016 Paris

You’d be forgiven for thinking the only thing coming out of France this summer was the football, but as Euro16 drew to a dramatic climax, Couture Fashion Week 2016 erupted from the catwalks of Paris.

The fabulous fabric creations, extravagant hairstyles and stunning make-up designs might not be for everyday wear, more an expression of the designer’s ultimate creativity, however elements from the collections shown will filter down on to the high street and influence the purchases you make for Autumn/Winter 2016.

As important as the Haute Couture pieces are at fashion week, the make-up plays a crucial role in delivering the overall look, and there are some strong designs coming out of Paris that you can recreate with the fabulous products available from Lemonade.

Make-up artist Pat McGrath gave the models at the Versace show sweeping metallic blue eyes, while Peter Philips had sparkling swipes of gold on the eyes of the models for Dior, colour-blocking to achieve a dramatic textured effect. You can achieve the glittery make up effect by choosing the Lemonade Glitter Eyes in midnight blue or gold .

Designers Ralph and Russo brought some ethereal creations to the catwalk, including a cloud of soft white elegance, teamed with sleek hair, smoky eyes and glossy lips. The theme was echoed in many of the shows where despite showcasing designs for Autumn/Winter, there were gowns layered with romantic ruffles in pastel colours at Giambattista Valli.

Armani travelled a different, yet just as glamorous, route with ready to wear designs featuring necklines and jackets edged in crystal studded rope, just the sparkle we love at Lemonade!
